The Cost of Kingdom Influence
What it take to be useful to God
It's a tragedy that while we profess Jesus' name, our lifestyle appears to reject his example.
Jesus did not enjoy carrying the cross. He endured physical, emotional, and psychological agony beyond our comprehension in order to model a life yielded and fulfilled by doing His Father's will.
Unfortunately, some of us have strayed from denying ourselves, taking up our crosses, and following Jesus' teachings.
So, rather than a call to perfection, this is a call to sincerity. It's a charge to maturity and sobriety.
Do we truly desire a move of God, or do we simply wish to be comfortable until we reach heaven?
Are we going to give Jesus complete reign over our lives, or do we want him to be like a super hero we call on when we're in trouble, but disregard when he challenges us to a higher standard?
Please hear me clearly: Jesus paid a high price to redeem you. He sacrificed his own life to save you from the eternal consequences of sin.
When you accepted him as your Saviour, you simply recognised and believed in the work he did for you on the cross.
So if you desire to be used by God - it’s not going happen on your terms. Paul said it best…
“I've been crucified with Christ— so it's no longer I who lives, but it is Christ living in me. The life I now live in this body, I live by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me, and who gave himself for me.” - Galatians 2:20 FBV
You also can't rely on your gifts; many gifted people are estranged from God.
It's all about developing character and becoming an honourable vessel fit for the master's use. This is the path to kingdom influence.
I'm not saying it won't cost you anything, but in comparison to how much God wants to bless you now and forever, the cost is miniscule.
May we love God so much that to deny ourselves for his will brings us much joy. May we obtain grace to be honourable, useful, and effective vessels in the Lord’s sight, in Jesus’ name Amen.
God bless you.
